Location
Dubai is one of the seven United Arba Emirates (UAE) in the eastern Arabian Peninsula and it is also called Dubai the main city of the Emirate.
Ras Al Khaimah, also known as RAK, belongs to the United Arab Emirates. It is situated in the South of the Persian Golf – in the north of the UAE. RAK is the forth biggest emirate of the UAE, which border with Oman and Saudi Arabia. Ras Al Khaimah has a total surface of 1.700 square meters with a coastal line of 65 kilometers.
Geography
This emirate can be divided into three different geographical areas: the coast, the inland and the desert. In the coastal area you can find plenty of orange and date plantations, which are irrigated by the close-by spring water of the Hadjar-mountains.
The majority of Ras Al Khaimah inhabitants live in the capital, whose name, Ras Al Khaimah, was given to its emirate. The new international airport, called international airport RAK Airwas, is only 20 kilometers away from the capital.
Economy
The most important economic sectors of Ras Al Khaimah are tourism, trading, agriculture, and increasingly the industrial sector. Crown prince and head of government, sheik Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi has started several ambitious projects, so his country and companies in his emirate con participate from the prosperous economy of the neighboring emirates. His intention is to attract international investors and to establish new business opportunities from different industries.
